2nd Street Hooligans is VERY excited to annouce we will be participanting in the Race for the Rescues! Race For The Rescues is a day when animal lovers of all ages come out to run, walk, shop or adopt - to help save the lives of homeless dog, cats, horses and farm animals in Southern California. By joining our race team or donating in any amount, you are helping 2nd Street Hooligans reach our fundraising goal and continue to save the lives of animals in need.
This is a fundraiser where 100% of the net proceeds go to local animal welfare organizations. This race is a timed sporting event and we have a mixture of serious athletes competing for times and people who just want to come out and walk with or without their dog to help support the benefitting organizations. Not a runner? Then enjoy the Expo where we hold dog and cat adoptions, a silent auction, entertainment, food trucks, pet psychics, unique pet products and more. IT’S A BLAST!
Why We Race
Because animals do not have a voice. Four million cats and dogs-about one every eight seconds-are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Most of these animals die unwanted and alone.
Race For The Rescues believes that by uniting animal lovers and animal welfare organizations to work together we can change those heartbreaking statistics and make our world a better place.
The donations raised through Race For The Rescues will be used to help save the lives of once forgotten dogs, cats and horses and help them become cherished family members. In addition, providing important programs to the community such as veterinary care for the pets of low-income families, free spay and neuture clinics and a shelter intervention program.
Please join us to run, walk, shop or adopt! Or be there in spirit by registering for our Couch Potato race or making a donation.
